First … Southern California Edison equipment caused a fire that destroyed 488 structures in Malibu … 15 percent of Malibu’s houses.  Now … the utility wants to jack up your electric rates …. because it says it operates in such a risky area that it needs to pay investors a premium profit.

Malibu’s City council tonight will consider selling two acres of its vacant land along Civic Center Way the L-A County fire department.

And opposition is emerging to the planned chopping up of Malibu’s best hope for a city park.

Malibu’s city budget will take a 2 million dollar hit due to the Woolsey Fire … according to the latest figures from the city manager.

Seetoo is described as passionate about the city … perhaps an understatement.

She says she wants to be sensitive to all the issues that residents here are concerned with.

This includes anger over the roadblocks … when sheriff’s deputies kept rescue workers … supplies … and residents away from homes during the Woolsey Fire.

Also … residents want to talk about more law enforcement coverage in our community, how to deal with the homeless situation, and other safety issues.
