DUI Checkpoint Yields 14 Arrests

Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Station and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Traffic Services Detail held a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and driver's license checkpoint at Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way on Friday, Jan. 26, from 8 p.m. - 3 a.m.

The checkpoint resulted in:

A DUI arrest can lead to jail time, fines, DUI classes, license suspensions and other fees that can exceed $10,000.

According to the released results, a study on active drivers revealed that more people tested positive for drugs that may impair driving (14 percent) as opposed to alcohol (7.3 percent).
