A small brushfire broke out just after 12 p.m. Sunday on Kanan Dume Road, briefly stopping traffic through the canyon.

The Santa Monica Mirror reported that Mountain Resource and Conservation Agency firefighters were the first to arrive on scene and put out the 25 x 50-foot fire before Los Angeles County firefighters could respond.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived and blocked northbound traffic near Tunnel 3 on Mullholland Highway until 1 p.m.
