The students of Gan Malibu Early Childhood Center were treated to a performance by the Malibu String Academy last Thursday. Under the direction of Dr. Maia Zander, children between the ages of four and seven came to perform a violin concert featuring various songs for the age groups and technique levels represented.

Gan Malibu has been working with children to broaden their ideas about music. The students have been using a variety of musical tools, from a sound structure in the yard, composed of a homemade xylophone, to chimes made of spoons and drums made from paint cans, to the classroom area with various types of shoes for children to make music with their feet.
