Officials from Malibu and neighboring cities are inviting residents to attend a public workshop Monday evening at 6 p.m. in Calabasas to discuss ways to coordinate preparedness and mitigation issues in the event of a disaster.

The Las Virgines-Malibu Council of Governments has asked locals of Malibu, Calabasas, Agoura Hills, Hidden Hills, and Westlake Village to review the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, a coordinated effort between Malibu and nearby cities to pool resources during a disaster. Residents will also discuss disaster preparedness and mitigation issues relative to their local communities.

Members of the community will also have the opportunity give feedback on the Hazard Mitigation Plan and public outreach efforts.

The workshop will take place from 6-8 p.m. at Calabasas Founders Hall, 100 Civic Center Way, in Calabasas.

For additional information on the Hazard Mitigation Plan or the community workshop, contact Brad Davis, Emergency Services Coordinator, at 310-456-2489 ext. 260.
