Malibu High School varsity softball pitcher, sophomore Lisa-Marie Kohrs, 16, was selected to be on the cover of Gatorade’s 2003-2004 athlete-of-the-year package, which will be mailed to high school coaches nationwide, encouraging each school to send in their own nominees for the award.
Kohrs recorded more than 90 strikeouts in 97 innings of pitching this season, was the winning pitcher in all six of the Shark’s victories, including three Frontier League wins (a first for MHS), and was selected to the All Frontier League team. She was also named the first team All Frontier League in varsity tennis.
