It started out in life as a little romcom about two people who debate whether they can fall in love or just stay friends.
It was called “When Harry Met Sally” and it set the bar high on classic romantic comedy flicks. It goes to show you that beloved director Rob Reiner isn’t just into politics—he’s in to having fun. Hard to believe the movie matching up the irresistible pairing Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal is about to hit the big 3-0. It’s crazy, he says. Almost like his quirkier movie “Spinal Tap” turning 35.
He implies you only feel as old as your films. With a little inspiration from his own past relationship, Reiner typed up the script with a little help from top writer Nora Ephron. The ending gives you hope but the beginning was a little nerve wracking. In fact, Reiner saw Crystal as the perfect one to cast as Harry. But there was a little cause for pause, since Rob and Billy were also best friends—what if the working together thing didn’t go so well? In the end, there were no worries. Reiner went on to tell reporters, “It turned out way better than anything I could have imagined because, not only was he great in the part, it made our friendship better.” The film is a blast and definitely worth revisiting. If it’s not already in your collection, it’s full of hilarious moments like a scene shot at Katz’s Delicatessen where Harry and Sally are enjoying sandwiches and Sally proceeds to fake a gigantic orgasm.
At the end of the episode, an elderly lady remarks to the waiter, “I’ll have what’s she’s having.” The older woman was Reiner’s own mother, Estelle. You’ve got to hand it to them, comedy runs in this family.

As predicted, “The Avengers: Endgame” shattered all box office records with superpower ease. Fans brought their boxes of buttered popcorn, Twisters and Milk Duds and got ready days in advance, screening all 21 superpower flicks. The Marvel line-up brought in $350 million with a jaw-dropping worldwide take of $1.2 billion. It even blew away its previous box office records. The varied saga includes stars like Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, as well as our own Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
Not a spoiler was heard, but moviegoers were warned one thing they could expect: one actor was quoted as saying, “Bring a box of Kleenex and a diaper”—the film is three hours long. Now, that takes a whole other set of super powers!
