The Malibu Middle School surf team participated in the Summer’s Beach competition Saturday, Jan. 28, hosted in Ventura. Early morning water and weather conditions made room for surfers to deliver some exciting tricks, and a consistent 2’- 4’ swell on hand made it a great day to compete.
The Sharks’ veteran and rookie surfers gave their all, resulting in some of the best performances the coaches have witnessed all season, they said in a message to The Malibu Times. Malibu earned finals trophies in all five of the competition’s divisions, and landed in second place overall.
