At the LA County Board of Supervisors hearing about amending the camping rules in the ESHA, not once did I get the feeling our representative Sheila Kuehl was actually looking out for Malibu. Let me get this right: From the time 12 spots open in perpetuity, we now must trust these campers to do the right thing and never start fires? And, of course, pick up their trash? Hmm… A lot of faith (that I don’t have) there. And never a night check on them? Wow, Malibu got hung out to fry. That ember cake was pre-baked. I will volunteer for citizen patrol.
