July Luncheon
On Thursday, July 19, a luncheon will be held in the multipurpose room of Malibu City Hall. The backyard barbecue goes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; food and refreshments will be provided as well as entertainment from singer Thea Gill. The first 80 people who RSVP pay $2 at the door; afterward, a waitlist will be created. To reserve a seat, call 310.456.2489 ext. 357.
Relaxing Through Coloring
The Senior Center will hold its monthly art program on Wednesday, July 25, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Coloring activities help activate different areas of the brain, using creativity and logic. The program is free for all interested in exercising their mental health and memory.
Readers’ Theater
On Wednesday, July 25, the senior center will hold its weekly class from 1-3 p.m. in which participants come together and perform pieces from books. The cost is $2 per class and is a way for seniors to bond over literature and acting.
Walking Club
The Walking Club will have its weekly meetup on Tuesday, July 24, from 10-11 a.m., at Legacy Park. The club allows seniors to explore nature, exercise and get to know others as they stroll through the park.
Drawing at Bluffs Park
Offered by Santa Monica Emeritus College, a weekly course on drawing at Bluffs Park will be held Tuesday, July 24, from 12:30-2:45 p.m. With a scenic waterfront, participants have the opportunity to take a class on drawing, exploring their creativity.
