A series of Saturn and Capricorn influences casts a thoughtful, somber energy over the holidays, which is great for New Year’s resolutions but a drag for party-goers (particularly the Saturn opposition to Sun and Mars on New Year’s Eve). So if you’re feeling unusually sedate at midnight, put down your glass of champagne, grab a close friend and brainstorm some positive goals for 2004. On the lighter side, sociable Venus transits into friendly Aquarius on the 21st, and the New Moon on the 23rd in Capricorn creates a new cycle of solid opportunities. In the long-term, Uranus moves into Pisces from Dec. 30 through March 2011 (yes, that’s eight years), awakening a deep desire for spiritual connectivity.
If you know your rising sign from your time of birth, read that also.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Saturn slows you down toward the end of the year, but don’t despair-you may emerge with some solid opportunities presented to you. The New Moon begins a new cycle in your career-if you can be patient.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Activities with friends are uplifting, as well as donating your time to a charity. The New Moon turns you toward learning something new. Just be cautious while traveling-a delay may derail your plans temporarily.
Gemini (May 21-June 21)
It’s a bumpy ride for communications, which tests your patience and wisdom at the end of the year. A more philosophical, optimistic frame of mind prevails after the 30th. The New Moon is a great time to reevaluate your finances.
Cancer (June 22-July 22)
A tug-of-war with your significant other may prove enlightening to your relationship, especially during the New Moon. The Uranus transit in Pisces increases your desire to connect with your spiritual side.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You are battling Saturn and Mars at the end of the year, so chill out, slow down and don’t let your ego dictate your actions. Instead, donate some of your time to others in need during the New Moon.
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22
The New Moon stirs up romance-with an edge to it. In the long-term, Uranus in Pisces for the next several years brings enlightenment to relationship issues as well as the desire to do your own thing. It’s time to step out into the unknown.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
Your diplomacy skills will be aimed at family members during the holidays, when staying detached may be the key to success. Fortunately, the New Moon brings a new cycle of progress to your home environment.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
The New Moon says everything at the end of the year hinges on clear communications, not an easy task with retrograde Mercury. Writing down your intentions may help with clarity. Your creativity soars during Uranus in Pisces.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Money opportunities are presented to you during the New Moon, with some entanglements to unravel first. Communications improve after Mercury transits into your sign on the 30th. Homelife changes occur during Uranus in Pisces.
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
You’re in the spotlight-or hot seat-depending on how you handle the challenges thrown at you. You’ll certainly prove your worth to those who can assist you. On the relationship front, the New Moon brings a new beginning in your personal life.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
The New Moon brings a desire to get away from it all, but Venus in your sign indicates a socially active holiday season. A balance between socializing and taking some quiet time for spiritual attunement may be your key to fulfillment.
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
Waking up to your full potential will be your task for the next several years when Uranus travels through your sign. No more ostrich behavior with your head in the sand. Currently, the New Moon emphasizes friendship and community activities.
