Standing On Stone

Ever since I was a small child

I knew that ultimately I would

    Be on my own

    Building a foundation of morals

    And principles

    A man standing on stone

    Throughout my life’s journey

    I met many beautiful people

    Who became my friends

But I knew that in the end

    I would be all alone

    Unless I became

    A man standing on stone

    All my life I searched

    For truth and honor

    And I don’t care

If I end up broke and all alone

Because in the eyes of God

I am a man standing on stone
