On March 8, Our Lady of Malibu School hosted the REC Foundation Robotics Competition. Nine teams competed for spots in the California State Championship on March 15 in Santa Clara.
The event was run by Glen Sunyich and his wife, Debra Rubenacker.
OLM was represented by three teams. Representing seventh-grade were Josh Kamen, Tripp Principe and Liam Mudd. For sixth-grade, Calvin Joyce, Quinn Conway, Rachel DeAngelis, Nicholas Vandergon and David Sagona. Representing the fifth-grade were Samantha Palmer, Renni Collins and Ama Allan.
The tournament’s overall Excellence Award went to the OLM mechanized team, Nicholas Vandergon and David Sagona.
