Elayne Joan Spivak Rubenstein died Jan. 20 at the age of 82.
Rubenstein was born Jan. 2, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minn. She was the only child of Dorothy and David Spivak, originally of Cincinnati.
Rubenstein formerly worked as a model in the fashion industry. She also worked as a medical assistant for her husband, the late Dr. Hubert J. Rubenstein.
Rubenstein was a mother to Jay Rubenstein, Bob Rubenstein and Lynne London and grandmother to Rachel, Julie and Brian Rubenstein and Hugh London.
Rubenstein loved traveling, long walks with her husband on the Malibu Road beach, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Additionally, she was a valued member of the Malibu Jewish community.
Memorial services took place Jan. 22 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Simi Valley.
Contributions in Rubenstein’s honor can be made to the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue, Chabad of Malibu and the Alzheimer’s Association.
