The Malibu Institute, a development project slated to convert the Malibu Golf Course into an education conference and recreation center, has received unanimous approval from the Los Angeles County Planning Commission.
The institute will be a health and wellness center, as well as an educational and corporate retreat with a new golf course. The plans include 40 overnight bungalows to be operated in association with the University of Southern California.
Programs will focus on education, wellness, retreats and recreation, including golf tournaments, hiking and biking.
