Darian Andes Dixon-Merrick died March 12. She was 50 years old.
Born Nov. 2, 1958 at Saint John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, Merrick was a Malibu resident for more than 40 years. She attended Juan Cabrillo Elementary School, Malibu Park Junior High School and Santa Monica High School, and was well known for her love for the ocean, for animals and for beach volleyball.
Preceded in death by her mother Ann Andes Dixon of Malibu, Merrick is survived by her children Bridget Ann and Sean Robert Merrick of Malibu; her sisters Dru Ann Jacobson of Malibu and Cragan Cornelia (Carter) Mudge of Capistrano Beach; and her six nephews Jamie, Kelly and Andrew Jacobson of Malibu, and Patrick Parker and Ethan Mudge of Capistrano Beach.
A private remembrance will be held by the family.
