The Santa Monica-Malibu Education Foundation announced that it had raised $184,709 for all 16 Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District schools during a two-week match period. The funds were raised following a match donation from Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows/MSD Capital and CIT’s OneWest Bank; each company offered $25,000 and committed a joint $50,000 match.
Six hundred ninety-eight donors made contributions to throughout the campaign.
In a statement to the Ed Foundation, CIT President of Consumer Banking Steve Solk said, “By working together to encourage programs in the subjects such as the arts and STEM, businesses and community members are helping to prepare students for bright futures.”
