Howard Flagg

Malibu resident Howard Flagg died peacefully at his home on Oct. 18. He was 55 years old.

Born Sept. 25, 1954, Flagg was a graduate of Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where he served as a trustee and was winner of the 1997 Alumni of the Year award. He then became founder and President of Pairgain Technologies, an early pioneer of DSL technology.

Flagg formed a lifelong passion for sailing in his early teens and loved taking sailing trips with family and friends and spending time at the beach. He also loved learning and travel.

He felt a strong social responsibility for philanthropy and supported many causes in his community, especially those involving youth and education. While Howard was successful in everything he did, he was proudest of his family and his relationships with his very large circle of close friends.

Flagg is survived by his wife of 30 years, Angelica; his son, Harlan (Maren) and daughter, Delahna.

Private memorial services are pending. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to your charity of choice.
