Aiming to continue ongoing efforts to help small businesses thrive in Malibu, community alliance Preserve Malibu held a “Cash Mob” Sunday at Diesel, A Bookstore in the Civic Center. People came from all over to show their support for the longtime Malibu bookstore and purchase a book or gift certificate. John Evans, co-owner of Diesel, said he was thrilled by the turnout. “The Cash Mob is so energizing,” he said. “For readers to come out en masse to show their support for a local, independent bookstore is so moving. It was a joyful celebration and we thank everyone who organized it and everyone who came.”
