Workers spent the better part of the day Tuesday installing a pedestrian footbridge across Las Flores Creek around a hundred yards north of Pacific Coast Highway.
The bridge, which is part of a larger improvement project the city is undertaking at Las Flores Creek Park, will connect the east side of the creek along Las Flores Canyon Rd. with a parking lot located on Rambla Pacifico St.
Phase II of the improvement project, the first phase of which began in 2008, also includes the installation of a bathroom facility in the park, which was installed in February but has not yet opened to the public.
The city anticipates the second phase of park improvements will be completed and new facilities and access routes will open to the public in the month of March.
