The second annual “REELSTORIES Film Fest,” which features student-produced films, will take place at Pepperdine University Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.

The festival is inspired by the idea that “stories create reality.” The event will consist of student films, as well as two feature- length productions, “Wasteland,” directed by Lucy Walker, and “Exit Through the Giftshop,” a Banksy film.

“The stories we tell, share, and find valuable-those that move us, haunt us, and challenge our very being-are powerful and can help illustrate the kind of world we envision for the future,” said festival director and Pepperdine student Susie Lee. “Our hope through REELSTORIES is that people will appreciate and celebrate this power of storytelling.”

Prior to the screenings, live music, art and photography exhibits will be featured starting at 6 p.m. A dessert reception and awards ceremony will follow the screenings. More information can be obtained online at reelstoriesfilmfest.com
