Jessica Linn, granddaughter of The Malibu Times columnist Pam Linn, died Jan. 25 in an auto accident near Lancaster. She was 16.

Born April 9, 1986 in Newhall, Jessica was a student at Frazier Park and Gorman schools during the years she lived in Lebec with her father, Robert Linn, and his family. She spent several summers with her grandmother in Malibu, and for the past three years she had been attending high school in Lancaster, where she resided with her mother, Rhonda Linn.

She loved animals, riding, swimming, art, music, drama, and writing poetry and fiction. A child of sweet nature and generous spirit, she recently confided that it was her goal someday to establish a group home for troubled and addicted teens.

In addition to her parents and grandmother, she is survived by her brother, Phillip; aunts Susan Linn Carroll and Betty Linn Vargo; great-aunt Cynthia Stuffman, of Malibu; cousins Amy and Devon Carroll and Sutton Vargo.

Services will be private. In her memory, a gathering of friends and relatives is scheduled for noon Sunday at the Linn Ranch in Lebec.
