Malibu native and 2008 young Dolphin Award Winner Rebecca Gray has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Millicent McIntosh Award from Columbia University/Barnard College in New York. The annual award recognizes one student from each class who has “demonstrated outstanding leadership.” Gray, a junior at Barnard College, was chosen “because of [her] extraordinary dedication to student activities and [her] contributions to our campus.”

Gray was named a 2008 Dolphin Award winner for her involvement at Malibu High School. While in high school, Gray was a musician, a varsity athlete and was active in several school clubs. She also took many advanced placement classes, earned high marks on test scores and was always on the honor roll.

In 2009, Gray was given Malibu High School Senior Awards for Community Service and Academics.

“It’s all about interest and drive,” Gray said in 2009 about how she handled being so involved. “I have this thought that I want to do all I can. If it’s too much, I scale back a bit. But I love everything I do.”
