WCC Player Of The Year Award Goes To A Pepperdine Wave

Alex Sarkissian, senior men’s tennis player for the Pepperdine Waves, took home the West Coast Conference Player of the Year award for the 2014 season.

Sarkissian, who hails from Glendale, reached as high as #27 in the singles rankings for the nation. He had a record of 23-10 overall for the season and was the first player to take home the WCC Player of the Week award twice in 2014.

Along with Sarkissian, fellow senior teammates Francis Alcantara and David Sofaer were selected as All-WCC selections. Alcantara partnered with Sarkissian in doubles matches with the duo posting a 20-6 record while Sofaer was undefeated in matches against the WCC. 

Pepperdine begins its run in the WCC Tournament this Friday at 9 a.m. in the semifinals. The Waves will take on Portland, BYU, Gonzaga or Pacific.
