The Malibu Senior Center hosted an acrylic on wood workshop on Friday. Art Trek instructor Lorelle Patterson guided the students through a series of steps to create a Modigliani-style self-portrait, all within a two hour class.
Malibu Senior Center’s Recreation Coordinator Theresa Odello said, “We were pleasantly surprised with the turn-out on a rainy day, but were awed by the work they completed! Next month, we are doing recycled words/printed pages, where they take a page from a book and find a phrase that draws them in, then paint and illustrate to capture the essence of the chosen words.”
The Malibu Senior Center has a wide range of activities and workshops open to the public.
