The Apex Protection Project partnered with the MUSE School to educate students on the significance of wolves and wolfdogs in the environment. Students from preschool to fifth grade had a chance to witness firsthand the shy and gentleness of the top ecosystem predators, and interacted with the pack on the campus lawn.
Apex Protection Project founders Paula Ficara and Steve Wastell have been rescuing the animals since 2010, and since then have rehabilitated more than 50 in Los Angeles County. The organization is currently looking for land in Malibu to expand its practice.
