97.5 KBU will be moving to 99.1 FM, according to an email from KBU General Manager and The Malibu Times contributor Hans Laetz. This move will help increase the station’s power and provide much less interference, filling the signal in the current area in a better capacity. The change would also allow KBU to file for a booster in the Malibu Civic Center to help improve the station’s reach.
The booster application has already been filed to the Federal Communications Commission for approval.
