5th-graders compete in “Ballroom Madness”

The Point Dume Marine Science School team won second place at the Ballroom Madness dance competition in Santa Monica Jan. 23.

Sixty students, with 10 per school team, vied for the Ballroom Madness Trophy. The teams competed in the meringue, foxtrot, rumba, tango, swing and waltz.  

Judges for the competition included actor G.W. Bailey, restaurateur and interior designer Barbara Lazaroff and actor Joshua Bitton.
