Malibu mom Susanna Brisk will host the second annual Speak Up When You’re Down gala at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood, presented by the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force Nov. 13.
The goal of the gala is to honor women who have survived postpartum depression, and the friends, family and providers who have supported them.
Brisk will present awards to actress Shiva Rose, Dr. Harvey Karp and assemblyman Roger Hernandez for their work to promote maternal mental health.
Performer Brisk is scheduled to provide live comedy to the event. The writer, actor, comedian, host and solo performer is also the creator of themothershow.com, a website featuring different wild and humorous mom characters.
