Heal the Bay and several other community organizations led a group of more than 2,000 volunteers on June 14 to clean the soft-bottomed Glendale Narrows section of the Los Angeles River. The willow-filled Narrows section is home to several animal species. Other groups that participated in the event included the NAACP, the Pacific American Volunteer Association and the Anahuak Soccer Association.
