The Malibu Optimist Club held its Fifth Annual Excellence in Education awards program recently. Teachers Glen Sunyich from Our Lady of Malibu School, Amy Stark from Webster Elementary, Ken Harris from Point Dume Marine Science School, Elizabeth Cowgill from Malibu Middle School, Nancy Levy from Juan Cabrillo Elementary and Bonnie Thoreson from Malibu High School were recognized for their commitment to excellence and their dedication to their students. They were presented with certificates of commendation and a gift certificate from Geoffrey’s Malibu Restaurant.
