Two Our Lady of Malibu School (OLM) students were recognized for their submissions to the California Streaming Digital Photography Contest.
Caitlin Flynn and Evelyn Himburg were selected out of 400 entrants to receive honorable mention awards, which were presented to them by a California Streaming Digital Photography representative at an OLM morning assembly.
Flynn and Himburg entered their photographs, which were accompanied by essays, after taking OLM art teacher Patrice Wachs’ digital photography elective. Himburg’s photo, “Granny Photographs Santa Barbara,” captures her grandmother photographing a Statue of Santa Barbara and symbolizes traditions of capturing moments and Catholicism. Flynn’s photo, “A Girl’s Dream,” captures both a street shoe and a ballet shoe to juxtapose her two different sides.
