Musician Chris Armstrong, a sophomore at Malibu High School, performed in the All-Southern California High School Honor Instrumental Music Groups concert Feb. 10 at the University of Redlands. Armstrong was selected as second chair, first trumpet, in the wind ensemble group.
More than 750 students auditioned for the All-Southern Honor Groups, which are known for being selective. The Honor Music Groups include orchestra, wind ensemble and sym- phonic band.
After graduating from Malibu High, Armstrong hopes to attend a top music school and eventually perform in a major symphony.
