Rainbow celebration

Malibu residents Mimi Magnuson and Bruce Nelson attend the fundraiser to support Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

More than 450 people dressed in colorfully elegant attire came to the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village last month to support the Centennial Guild of Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. The theme of the fundraiser party was “Over the Rainbow.”

The cocktail hour included a jazz ensemble, martini bar by VEEV vodka, and a silent auction and raffle. During dinner, the guests heard two young patients describe how the care they received at the hospital has made a difference in their lives. The decorated tables included a rainbow cookie prepared by the family of a two-year-old boy being treated for leukemia. The song “Over the Rainbow” was sung by the daughter of a guild member while a video of young patients produced by the son of a guild member played on screens throughout the room.
