The annual “Call to the Wall” surf competition took place in Malibu last weekend, July 23-24.
Hosted by the Malibu Boardriders Club, the competition has been taking place at Surfrider Beach for over 25 years. It brings together some of the most talented longboard surfers from California and Hawaii, as well as kids learning to tame the waves.
The all-volunteer event serves as a fundraiser to benefit various charitable causes.
“Our Club’s goal is to spread the stoke associated with surfing through promotion of community events, stewardship of the local environment and mentoring kids in a sports setting,” Malibu Boardriders describes on its Facebook page.
