The front page of the Sept, 7 issue included another tragic reminder of why we so urgently need a light at PCH and Corral Canyon. A driver was seriously injured turning from Corral into the highway when an SUV slammed into the car. Traffic was backed up as usual on this busy beach day and for those of us inching along, it was another one of those ‘wow, it could have been me’ moments. How ironic to turn the page and find an editorial from Scott Palamar bemoaning the planned light at Corral, which he says will “serve only a small number of cross street vehicles and reduce the efficiency of all travel on PCH.” To the scores of “cross street drivers” injured at that dangerous intersection, it would have been well worth the minor inconvenience of sitting at a red light.
