A 66-year-old man identified as Bharat Talsana died Monday afternoon at Zuma Beach of an apparent heart attack.
The man was reportedly not in or near the water at the time of his death, and initial reports that the man drowned have since been discounted.
According to authorities, the man suffered the heart attack around 3:30 p.m. Monday near Zuma Beach Lifeguard Tower 1, located on the eastern section of the shore, and could not be resuscitated by lifeguards or fire personnel.
Talsana was a resident of Arcadia, and was reported to be visiting the beach with a friend when he collapsed.
