“I was born and raised in Lebanon and assault weapons should not exist, there is no reason for them. I survived the civil war and I know exactly what they can do. You don’t need them to hunt, you don’t need them to protect yourself unless you’re a military or army person, other than that, they’re useless. The only cause or result of it is damage, killing, and carnage. It’s as simple as that.”
“To me it’s a no brainer, I see no reason to have assault weapons in a civilian population. It’s strictly a military weapon, that’s it.”
“Only retired military or police, fire and rescue should have assault weapons. I think if you have an assault weapon you should be background checked, you should have to go through a lot more to be able to own a weapon like that. I feel there are way too many weapons out there for the amount of people out there. You definitely see it when you go to gun shows, you can walk in there and buy any kind of gun you want.”
“I think assault weapons should be banned, I don’t think there is any reason for them to be in society except for the military. They’re meant to do big damage in a great amount of people and there’s no use for them, a hunter doesn’t need them, a person doesn’t need them, so I feel it is our right to bear arms, but not assault rifles.”
“I change my mind on it every day. When people have weapons it gives them a sense of security just because of what happened at Sandy Hook School, but I also think that if everyone has a weapon it kinda gives everyone a reason to be a little bit scared and suspicious. Especially going to school—that’s where you should be focused on your education. But there needs to be a detailed background check on people.”
“I think that people are entitled to own guns, including assault weapons, if they are properly licensed to do so. I think that laws should probably be more strict in the sense that people should undergo a basic psychological analysis before they are allowed to own a gun including assault weapons.”
