Raise the Weights, a community fundraiser, was held at CrossFit Malibu on Saturday to raise money for the Malibu High weight room.

Locals organized the event after thousands of dollars in weightlifting and exercise equipment was stolen from a MHS storage shed over spring break. People from the Malibu community and CrossFit gyms across Southern California joined the workout, raising over $2,500. Later, the MHS Athletic Booster Club agreed to match that amount, meeting the $5,000 goal.

Malibu High strength and conditioning coach Vince Goldberg, head football coach Ray Humphrey and Malibu CrossFit owner Mike Anderson said they were overjoyed with the outpour of support from the community.

People from all over came out to participate in the Raise The Weights fundraiser at CrossFit Malibu to help raise money to replace stolen gym equipment for Malibu High School.
