Judith L. Kott

Judith L. Kott passed away on June 28 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was 68 years old. 

She and her husband, Michael Kott, were born in Manchester, N.H. and lived in Malibu for the past 18 years. They were married for over 45 years.

Judith attended Memorial High School and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1969 with a degree in French languages. She lived with her family in various parts of the U.S., including Omaha, Neb., Fairfax, Va. and Amherst, N.H. 

Kott taught French while raising her daughter, Laura, in Amherst. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed traveling worldwide with her family. She was a member of the Malibu Racquet Club in the early 2000s and loved playing bridge at the Agoura Hills Bridge Club, the Trancas West Club and with a number of close friends in Malibu. She worked for a few years at Curves in Malibu and made a lot of close friends. 

Kott is survived by her husband, Michael; daughter, Laura Hatchman (Barnaby); granddaughter, Sofie; and brother, Robert Provencher.

A memorial service will take place for Judith on Saturday, July 18 at 10 a.m. at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Mortuary in Westlake Village. Donations may be made in Judith’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
