MHS students are awarded for their outstanding works of art in this year’s PTA Reflections Program.

Malibu High School hosted an awards ceremony on Nov. 5 to honor students for their participation in the 2015-16 PTA Reflections Program, “Let Your Imagination Fly.”

The PTA-sanctioned program allows students nationwide to focus on a common theme by creating original works of art in the categories of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

A record number of MHS students participated in this year’s program, and the winners in each category will move on to compete at the district level with potential to move on to state and national-level competitions.

MHS principal Brandon Gallagher spoke about the importance of art in schools at the ceremony, encouraging his students to continue expressing themselves through creative mediums.
