An earthquake centered near the Channel Islands sent a light shock across neighboring regions, including Malibu, just before 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The 2.4-magnitude quake was fairly shallow, striking about 2 miles below sea level and centered approximately 8 miles southwest of Malibu and 14 miles south of Westlake Village. In November, a 3.2-magnitude quake hit near the same area. For more information, visit the USGS website.
