Letter: Get Over It

Never Ends. Well, these days another edition of The Malibu Times usually means more tear-soaked pages over Donald Trump. Why not just change the name of the paper to “The Trump-Bashing Weekly?”

Come on folks, I didn’t vote for Trump, but let’s wake up and grow up. The Democratic Party lost, period. Now get over it. How about trying to support and respect the president for a change, regardless of who it turned out to be? Isn’t that what this country is all about? If you consider yourselves true American citizens, wouldn’t that be the patriotic thing to do?

Free speech and freedom of the press are one thing, but driving everyone crazy with this broken record (CD) about Trump is sending everyone to the many psychiatric rehab facilities we have here in Malibu. If all you can think about from the time you get up in the morning is another way to degrade and dehumanize Donald Trump, then you need to get a life.

Enough with the complaining, the whining and the bitterness. Isn’t it peculiar, though, that these anti-Trumpsters refer to themselves as “progressives,” the root word of which is “progress?” They’re not for progress. They’re divisive and obstructive. People keep forgetting that all the negative coverage Donald Trump endured up until Nov. 8 is what helped get him elected in the first place — and it pissed his supporters off to the point where they showed up in droves, and they are still out there listening. So, keep it up and all you’ll be doing is assuring him of a second term and yourselves four more years of ranting, raging and high blood pressure.

On Sunday, Feb. 5, millions of Americans watched the Super Bowl. Did anybody see those same jihadist-style protester thugs smashing store windows and burning cars outside of the stadium in Houston or marching in the streets of Atlanta, because the Falcons lost? Why not?
