Men’s Volleyball Defeats Loyola Chicago in Exciting Match

The Pepperdine men’s volleyball team defeated eighth-ranked Loyola Chicago in front of 1,322 fans last Friday night. This marks the second win of the season for the No. 5 ranked team with a 15-11 victory in the fifth, and high energy from both sides of the court led to a back-and-forth exciting matchup. 

Loyola came prepared to win and took the first advantage with a 25-18 set, but Pepperdine fought to even the score in the second with a 25-23 edge. The Waves followed up the Ramblers’ 25-19 win in the third with a 25-21 second set score in the fourth. The teams played tough in the fifth, but Pepperdine ultimately grabbed the round, taking home the overall win. 

The Waves are scheduled to host Stanford Friday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m.
