CNN Hero of the Year Anuradha Koirala, a Nepali woman who works to end child sex trafficking, spoke at a fundraising event for her organization, Maiti Nepal, at the Malibu West Beach Club on Nov. 23. Koirala’s work “involves preventing, rescuing and rehabilitating young Nepalese girls from human trafficking,” said event co-host Susan Stiffelman. Out of CNN’s top ten nominees, Koirala was chosen as the winner of the CNN Hero of the Year award.
