Disaster loans from the SBA are the federal government’s primary form of long-term recovery assistance for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes for the long term repair and rebuilding of disaster-damaged private property including homes, personal property and business losses.
You can apply online: disasterloan.sba.gov/ela.
You can apply in person at the Malibu Disaster Recovery Center (located at the Malibu courthouse).
You can apply by mail to request an application (see number below).
SBA Loans cover disaster losses that are NOT covered by insurance or recoveries from other sources. It is NOT necessary for you to wait for your insurance settlement before applying for an SBA loan.
