The City of Malibu presented the 2013 Spring Recital at the Malibu Civic Theater last Friday. The lively and entertaining event showcased the skills of the students and teachers from the city’s Parks and Recreation Department classes.
The recital included performances by ballet classes, instructed and choreographed by Adrianna Fiori; the Zuma Youth Orchestra, directed by John Kibler; hula, instructed and choreographed by Anna Liza Kalauokekupukupu Abuan Mckeon; Zumba, instructed and choreographed by Betty Yee-Opp and belly dancing, instructed and choreographed by Melanie Kareem.
The Topanga Belly Dancers, from Melanie Kareem Middle Eastern Dance School, show off their moves during the spring performance. The belly dancers also invited members of the audience to join them on stage after their performance.
