In honor of International Peace Day, Juan Cabrillo Elementary School students participated in a week-long celebration, with activities planned by teacher Zoe Langley.
The activities included designing flags, banners and more; writing about what peace means; and putting on theatrical performances around the concept of peace.
Visual arts teacher Nicole Fisher worked with kids to create peace rocks.
According to photographer Dave Teel, “The event culminated with all of Cabrillo’s students holding hands and creating a peace symbol on the school’s playground. A moment of silence was taken for all to reflect on the celebration assembly, and all they had created to promote peace.”
