It’s amazing that someone not attending the dog park hearing could garner front-page coverage with such grossly offensive and misleading condemnations. The pooch people want only a few acres of very simple fenced-in natural terrain for safe and unobtrusive canine supervised playtime. Facilities for ballparks and tot playgrounds would certainly demand much greater construction and maintenance, but all these uses could be shared to facilitate wonderful experiences for many, many members of our community while protecting the surrounding area from development, traffic congestion and over-population.
Certainly it is frustrating to those on the selling end of any real estate transaction to experience interminable delays in the completion of a deal the size and price of this property, but the positives, should the funds be raised and made available, are far worth the enormous time involved. Hopefully, (Paul) Grisanti might join forces with the several factions interested in preserving the area for open space and recreation and help rather than condemn and insult a whole lot of dog lovers choosing a lifestyle in Malibu that allows the companionship of our four-legged friends.
