Three Pepperdine Women’s Volleyball Team Members Earn WCC 2016 All-Academic Accolades

Impressive academic performances during the season resulted in three of Pepperdine’s women’s volleyball team members picking up honorable accolades. Senior Gaby Palmeri and junior Ashley Morgan earned first team honors in the West Coast Conference’s 2016 All-Academic team, and sophomore Jenna Tunnell picked up an honorable mention. 

Davis, California native Gaby Palmeri maintained a 3.70 grade point average and finished the season with 1.43 kills/set, 0.48 blocks/set and 0.43 digs/set. This is the second consecutive WCC All-Academic first team honor for Palmeri, who is expected to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 2017.

This is also Ashley Morgan’s second season earning the WCC All-Academic first team honor. The Anaheim Hills native produced 2.62 digs/set and 0.11 aces/set for the Waves this season, while maintaining at 3.64 grade point average in the midst.

Hailing from Phoenix, Jenna Tunnell earned her first spot on the honorable mention list this season with a 3.68 grade point average. The undeclared sophomore averaged the season with 1.14 kills/set, 3.82 assists/set, 0.14 aces/set, 1.84 digs/set and 0.44 blocks/set.
